How does the water filter works

Our faucet fitlers remove more than 100 substances from tap water, trapping nanoparticles through adsorption and organic particles small as 1–2 microns in the carbon block. They also preserve the water's essential minerals.

General question

In Vietnam, tap water does not meet quality standards to be able to drink directly. Water contaminated with disease-causing organisms is a major source of illness and can expose travelers to diarrhea, gastroenteritis, typhoid, cholera, dysentery, and hepatitis A. Additionally, in some provinces, The content of chlorine and heavy metals is still very high, exceeding the allowable level, making the water quality unsafe for use.

TAPP Ultra's filter core has been proven to effectively reduce limescale concentrations. How? There are basically two methods: a) remove calcium and magnesium ions from water so that calcium and magnesium salts cannot form; b) prevents calcium and magnesium ions from forming calcium and magnesium salts.

Method A: Use a water softener such as an ion exchange resin, which exchanges calcium ions for sodium ions. This is the reason why water tastes salty after filtering. Water softeners will separate calcium and magnesium ions from the water.

Method B: The method TAPP Water uses - Our proprietary lime scale inhibitor forms a complex with inorganic contaminants and prevents them from forming hard deposits, staining, etc. The positive thing is that Calcium and Magnesium are not reduced and the water does not taste salty. On the negative side, you will still see some white particles/foam left in the water from the calcium and magnesium ions that form.

Each filter is capable of filtering with a capacity equivalent to 2000 - 3000 liters of water (depending on initial water quality), equivalent to 4-6 months of average household water use. We advise consumers to replace the filter core after a maximum of 6 months even if it has not filtered up to 3000 liters. This is because the content in the core will become saturated with contaminants over time and there is a risk of bacterial buildup after 4-6 months. This phenomenon occurs with all activated carbon filters.

All TAPP Water Vietnam products are tested and certified by the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health. Test results can be found here.

Tapp Ultra Filter

With 5 advanced filtration layers: Filter mesh - Organic granular activated carbon - Soaked silver particles - Ultrafiltration hollow fiber - PP cotton, the TAPP Ultra faucet water filter is capable of filtering more than 100 contaminants including bacteria. bacteria, viruses, microplastics, heavy metals, nitrates,... In addition, sand, rust and limescale, sediment and other substances with a diameter of > 10 μm (microns) will all be removed.

You absolutely CAN drink water right after it is filtered. TAPP Ultra faucet water filter has been tested and certified for tap water quality through filtered faucets in Vietnam. This is the only water ultrafiltration device that removes more than 99.9% of bacteria and impurities at the molecular level using ultrafiltration, microfiltration and adsorption technology.

TAPP Water's filter head is suitable for more than 95% of current faucet types with a diameter of 16-24mm. Each box includes a basic adapter thread set and we will send additional threads free of charge. However, there are 4 types of faucets that are not compatible with TAPP Water:

1. Oval thread

2. Spray style or pull-out faucet

3. Bosjon/Tamnaren faucet

4. Faucet with sensor

The water filter at the TAPP Ultra faucet is capable of filtering 2000 - 3000 liters of water with a lifespan of up to 6 months depending on the contamination level of tap water where you live. We recommend replacing the filter core every 3 months from use to ensure filtered water quality is maintained.

TAPP Water's filters are made from sustainable, long-lasting, recyclable materials that do not contain BPA and Phthalates. The components of the filter core are very environmentally friendly and biodegradable. In particular, in the filter core, we use coconut shell (also known as coconut shell) instead of stainless steel. This still ensures filtration quality but creates a product with a price more suitable for many Vietnamese families. Because our desire is that everyone can have access to clean water in a sustainable way.

TAPP Ultra filter core is made entirely of non-toxic materials after decomposition. The filter cartridges contain a high percentage of biodegradable and compostable material and can be disposed of with organic waste. Therefore, we recommend that you sort and treat TAPP Ultra Refill and TAPP ShowerPro Refill cartridges together with your household organic waste. If the area where you live does not classify waste, you can still throw away used TAPP Water products with normal household waste.

Currently, we recommend that you only use TAPP Ultra to filter cold water or water at room temperature (25 - 27 degrees Celsius). The materials in the filter cartridge are not designed to withstand high temperatures and may melt. If you need to use hot water, you should turn the lever and use unfiltered water.

There is no need to remove the TAPP Water filter head from the faucet even if you do not want to filter it. All you need to do is flip the small lever to put the filter faucet into non-filter mode.

ShowerPro Filter

According to research by the General Department of Environment, groundwater accounts for about 35% - 40% of the total amount of domestic water of Vietnamese people. However, according to most research results of the Center for Resource Monitoring and Forecasting under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on groundwater recently, it has been shown that: groundwater is being heavily polluted by chemicals. toxic. Specifically in the Northern Delta region, ammonium concentration in groundwater is up to 23.3 mg/l, many times higher than the standard. In addition, about 60% of the observed samples contained Mn (Manganese) exceeding the standard content or about 15% of the tested samples contained Arsenic content. Especially in Hanoi, the level of ammonia contamination in some places has exceeded the allowable level by 20 to 30 times. In many places, groundwater is contaminated with arsenic up to 40 times higher than the allowable level.

No exception, in the Southern Delta region, observed samples also showed that the content of Manganese and Methane (poisons in pesticides) also exceeded the allowable threshold. In particular, in the Southwest region, many places have lower terrain and are covered by river systems, so the level of chemical contamination is also higher.

As a result, domestic water is highly contaminated with chlorine and heavy metals. Shower water or tap water in general, if not treated well, can still contain heavy metals and impurities that cause skin irritation, allergies, skin diseases, and quickly damage equipment. overusing water, damaging clothes,... especially water sources contaminated with highly toxic metals such as mercury, lead, arsenic,... if the content is too high, it will affect human health, causing serious poisoning after That leads to many diseases such as mutations and cancer.

You can completely install the filter head at the TAPP ShowerPro shower head just by hand and without using electricity.

TAPP ShowerPro is designed to be used for filtration under both high water pressure and hot water. Note, if your shower head has a water off button, do not use this function to avoid affecting the water filtration speed.

With advanced 4-stage filtration technology: Calcium sulfite, KDF-55, Mineral particles (quartz crystals), calcification inhibitors, the TAPP ShowerPro filter head is capable of filtering more than 70 contaminants including chlorine (VOC). ), microplastics, 14 pesticides, 12 herbicides and calcifiers and many other impurities. KDF-55 filter material is certified by NSF in the US and Europe to help bring high filtration efficiency.

The water filter head at the TAPP ShowerPro shower head is capable of filtering 20,000 - 40,000 liters of water with a lifespan of up to 6 months depending on the contamination level of tap water where you live.
